Jerry is a recognized authority in software engineering and has served companies in 90 nations. Testing is a necessary evil and despite mastery of the discipline the service continually falls short of management expectations. In spite of producing results test engineers become characterized as the bearers of bad news and in many cases as a hindrance to timely value delivery.
This session will delve in the views of management towards the role and functional value of testing. In parallel an understanding will be revealed as to why this has taken place and what can be done to alter the perceptions that regularly occur. Rather than concentrating on selling the adoption of change a means to establishing ownership will be shared.

Currently leads the Test Automation CoE of Accenture in the Philippines. This test automation CoE is focused on pushing test automation across different projects, creating solutions for test automation for new clients, and innovating.
With Agile and DevOps more embraced by organizations, test automation is a necessity to quickly achieve quality. But if test automation is not properly performed, it can quickly backfire and all efforts to create the automated scripts will be wasted. Aside from management factors, there are technical stuff that needs to be looked into as well.
